Welcome to the Fremont County Pioneer Association Events Page

Every year the Fremont County Pioneer Association holds annual events, and our members take part in assisting and supporting the Fremont County Pioneer Museum and the Museum of the American West with worthwhile projects. Our members provide a variety of assistance through our volunteer programs.

If you see a project that interests you or if you have a special skill that you would like to apply, please let us know and we'll get you started.

Specific dates for our events will be announced as they are scheduled. If you are planning to attend a meeting or event, please check this page for updates to date, time and place. We may also add additional events to the calendar.

The Float:
The chuck wagon - left side of the float - is an authentic John Deere Chuck Wagon.
(Note the legacy John Deere paint job - green and yellow!) This Chuck Wagon is well over
100 years old and came to us by way of Oregon. The red "People Hauler" on the left is only half
as old as the Chuck Wagon, but served us well as "The Band Wagon". This year’s music was
performed by the talented pickers & fiddlers from Fremont County. We also had a surprise
(& surprised) guest artist! A banjo player - who was on a cross-country bicycle trip - stopped
in at the Pioneer Museum the evening before the parade. He agreed to jump on the band wagon
& play with us on the 4th of July!

And here is our 1st Place Trophy:

Our 1st Place Trophy

Kudos to the Pioneer Association Parade Committee, as well as to Tom Matthews and his wife Erica Flom for designing and building the winning entry!! (By the way, Tom and Erica picked sage brush for the float, Tom drove the float down Main Street in the parade, and Erica was "instrumental" in bringing the music and musicians together, while doing some mighty fancy fiddlin’ herself.)

Awesome job and many thanks to everyone!
